Orange Chocolate Sponge Cake

  • Flour – 2 cups
  • Eggs – 4
  • Sugar – 1 ¼ cup
  • Butter – 100gms
  • Fresh Orange juice – ¾ cup
  • Orange Zest – 3tbsp
  • Baking powder – 1 tsp
  • Vanilla Essence – 1tsp
  • Nutella – 5 tbsp( large)
  1. Sieve the flour and the baking powder.
  2. Beat sugar and butter till light and fluffy.
  3. Beat one egg at a time till fluffy (don’t over- beat or the cake won’t rise.
  4. Add vanilla essence and then the orange zest to the mixture of butter and sugar.
  5. Fold in the flour to the mixture and add the orange juice and mix well.
  6. Take ¼ of the batter and mix Nutella chocolate cream to it.
  7. Grease and dust a baking pan and pour the batter in it. Pour in the chocolate batter and give a swirl with the main batter.
  8. Preheat the oven to 180 degree C and then bake the cake for for 50 minutes or till the skewer comes out clean.
