Shahi Paneer Koftas



  • Paneer -200 gms
  • Boiled potato- 1 large
  • 1 tsp cornflour
  • 2 cups milk
  • 1 onion ground into a paste with 3 cloves of garlic and an inch of ginger
  • A few rasins (optional)
  • ½ tstp chilly powder
  • 1 tsp cumin powder
  • 1 tbsp coriander powder
  • 1/2 tsp garam masala
  • 1/2 tsp turmeric
  • Salt to taste


– Mash the Paneer and boiled potato together and add salt and pepper powder into it as per your taste. Next, add cornflour and mix well.

Divide into desired sized balls adding 2-3 raisins in the centre. Cook these balls in an appe pan with a drop of oil in each cavity turning around till golden and leave aside.( Alternatively you can fry the balls too).

– Add a 1 tablespoon of oil in a pan and splutter some cumin seeds. Then add the onion ginger garlic paste and cook on slow heat till golden and well cooked. Next, add the dry masalas. Mix well and then add the milk and give it a boil. Switch off gas. Ddd a tsp of kasuri methi in the prepared gravy. Place the fried koftas in a dish and pour the prepared gravy over it and serve hot garnished with a bit of cream or freshly chopped coriander.
