Ridge Gourd with Poppy Seeds

  • 2 tender ridge gourds
  • 2 tablespoons oil
  • ½ tsp cumin seeds
  • 2 dry chillies
  • poppy seed masala (3 teaspoon poppy seeds and 2 red chillies ground to a smooth paste)
  • turmeric powder
  • salt
  • grated coconut

Peel ridge gourd and cut into medium sized pieces.

Heat oil in a pan and temper with cumin seeds and 2 dry red chilles.

When it starts to splutter add the ridge gourd and poppy seed masala

Add salt to taste and half tsp turmeric powder and cover n cook on medium flame till the ridge gourd is cooked.

Switch off the gas and add 2 tblspoon of grated coconut.
