It’s a universal fact that their Sunday brunch is the best in town. And just when you think Westin Hyderabad Mindspace’s Seasonal Tastes can’t get any better, they surprise you with a fantastic Mango Brunch.
How do they make you relove the king of fruits? Let me count the ways – almost 70% of the extensive spread of drinks, starters, soups, main course, desserts and more were mango-based.
From a cooling mango panna, to a more spirited mango vodka martini to accompany their starters – Fish Rolls with Grated Raw Mangoes, Chicken Souvlaki with Mango Tzatziki Sauce, Nachos with Mango Salsa, Sheekh Kebabs with Mango Gilafi, Parma ham wrapped with Fazli Mango Wedges and Honey Ginger Dressing to name just a few, you’re already mangoliciously zoned out before the main course.
Be it mango-wrapped sushi, mango-based crepes, Asian greens with water chestnuts, tofu and spicy mango or Mushroom and Alphonso tarts, every item on the menu was has been painstakingly researched and presented in such a way that the king never fails to surprise you with its adaptability to different dishes as well as cuisines.
The desserts were as decandent as the rest. My favourites were the Fresh Alphonso Mango and Almond Tarts, Malda Mango and Clove Tart Tatin and Mango Mille Feuille.
It’s a pity the mango brunch is just a one-day annual event. Not only is it an amazing showcase of the variety and versatility of mangoes on offer this time of the year, but also a delicious revelation of the immense talent and culinary expertise of the chefs at Westin Mindspace Hyderabad.
For those who missed this mangonomical gastronomical indulgence, you could still get a piece of the pie. Daily Treats, Westin Mindspace’s deli will continue to prepare mango-based cakes & bakes and shakes through the mango season. All hail the king and a happy mango nation!
