Here’s another reason to visit nostalgia-filled Chai Shop at Taj Banjara – the Khaogali Food Festival.

For those of us who heart street food, but are apprehensive of indulging in them for obvious reasons, Chai Shop brings to the table a delicious smorgasbord from Chandni Chowk to Charminar.

There’s almost everything from Bhuna Bhutta and Shakarkand, Bandi ki Chowmein, Subz Takatin, Bun Omlette, Sirka wali Tawa Murgh, mutton pepper fries and lots more.

Chef Amjad and his team have set up very festive live counters in the lawns overlooking the lake. And with the slight nip in the evening air these days, it makes for the perfect setting to warm up next to the open coals with garam garam tikkis, kebabs and parathas.

The must-tries according to me are the chaats and pani –puris, aloo and paneer tikkis and sirka chicken, which will have you reaching out for seconds, thirds and then some.

Available only over the weekend, with 28-30 Nov 2014 being the last dates of the festival, now would be a good time to make your reservations. I was there last weekend and the place was absolutely packed.
